BIRMINGHAM – UAB women's basketball head coach Randy Norton has announced the additions of Alison Seberger and Kara Rawls to his staff. Seberger will be an assistant coach while Rawls will serve as director of basketball operations.
Seberger, who brings over seven years of coaching and administrative experience, comes to UAB after spending the last two seasons as an assistant coach at North Alabama. Additionally, she had stops at Kent State and Lenior Rhyne.
Seberger played at Illinois State from 2010-14, serving as a team captain in her final season. "I have known Alison for a long time as I recruited her when I was on staff at Illinois State in 2010," Norton said.
"I have always stayed in contact with Alison and have admired from afar what she has accomplished in our profession. Alison has a relentless work ethic and a tremendous knowledge of our game. She has a passion for developing young women, on the court, in the classroom, in the community and helping them be the best they can be."
Rawls, who played for Norton at UAB from 2015-18, arrives back in Birmingham after two seasons as an assistant coach at Middle Georgia State.
As a Blazer, she helped lead UAB to the 2018 Conference USA regular season championship, the first in program history. As a senior, she was just one of five players to appear in all 30 games, leading the team with 7.8 boards a game.
"We are thrilled to have Kara join our staff as director of basketball operations," Norton said. "Kara was an outstanding student-athlete for us and played a big part in helping us build a championship program. As a former Blazer, Kara understands our culture and will be a great asset to the coaching staff as well as our student-athletes."
With the addition of Rawls and Seberger, the UAB women's basketball is now complete. Last week, Norton announced to the promotion of Kayla Alexander to assistant coach.
