UAB Football Signs Home-and-Home Series with UConn, ULM

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB football program has announced home-and-home series with the University of Connecticut and the University of Louisiana Monroe to be played throughout the 2024, 2025 and 2026 seasons.
UAB vs. UConn:
Nov. 9, 2024 – at UAB
Nov. 1, 2025 – at UConn
UAB vs. ULM:
Sept. 7, 2024 – at ULM
Sept. 12, 2026 – at UAB
The Blazers and Huskies have never met on the gridiron, while the game at UConn in 2025 marks UAB's first time in school history playing in New England.
UAB is 5-0 against teams who are independent, with all five of those wins coming against Army. The Blazers play their next independent opponent when UAB opens Protective Stadium on Oct. 2, 2021 against Liberty.
UConn was a member of the American Athletic Conference until 2019, but moved its football program to independent when the university joined the Big East Conference. The Huskies opted out of the 2020 football season and will be playing their first full season as an independent in 2021.
The series against ULM adds to a growing list of Sun Belt schools UAB will play over the next decade, which also includes Georgia Southern, Georgia State, Louisiana, South Alabama and Troy.
UAB is 1-1 against ULM with both games coming in the late 90s. ULM won the first contest 20-14 in 1998 and UAB won the second game 47-0 in 1999.
Additionally, UAB has also signed a contract to open the 2027 season with Florida A&M at Protective Stadium. That game is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 2.
UAB Football season tickets for the inaugural season at Protective Stadium are on sale starting as low as $75. New 2021 season ticket holders who complete their purchase following the April 1, 2021 priority seat deadline but prior to May 15, 2021 will pick their season ticket and parking locations in late May following the conclusion of the currently scheduled seat selection appointments for fans that committed prior to the deadline.
