Blazer Men’s Tennis Falls to Georgia State on Senior Day

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB men's tennis team fell, 4-0, to Georgia State in a nonconference matchup at the UAB Campus courts on Tuesday afternoon.
UAB (5-10, 0-3 C-USA) dropped the doubles point as Georgia State (14-5, 4-0 Sun Belt) won on courts one and two. In the No. 1 doubles position, Daniel Janko/Vojtech Podzemny fell to Kevin Huynh/Harvey Maughan, 6-1, before Andrei Duarte/Roberts Grinvalds topped Roman Postolka/Michal Lusovsky on court two, 6-2.
In singles play, the Panthers went up 2-0 with a court six victory by Diego Padilha over Giovani Pasini, 6-3, 6-4, before Thanos Spyropolus fell to Duarte on court three, 7-5, 6-4. Georgia State clinched the match on court one with Harvey Maughan's 6-3, 7-6 win over Postolka.
UAB returns to the courts on Saturday as the Green and Gold travels to Nashville to take on Belmont (10-3, 3-1 OVC).
