UAB Bowling Travels to Tennessee for Railsplitter Classic

BIRMINGHAM –The UAB bowling team travels to Harrogate,Tenn. to compete in their first spring competition at the Railsplitter Classic hosted by Lincoln Memorial. The three-day event runs Feb. 5 through Feb. 7.
In their last competition, the Blazers finished seventh at the Louisiana Tech Invitational after facing multiple ranked teams.
Samantha Johnson led the way with a total pinfall of 773 to finish in 12th place. Elise London (670), Jamie Krasnigor (663) and Katie Hurley (657) placed 21st, 22nd and 23rd, respectively, to finish the Blazers in the top 25 individually.
The team will begin the Railsplitter Classic with baker matches on Friday before competing in traditional matches on Saturday. The weekend concludes with best of seven baker matches on Sunday.
UAB will be one of eight teams this weekend including Mercyhurst, Valparaiso, Tusculum, Lincoln Memorial, Kentucky Wesleyan, Belmont Abbey and Spalding.
Competing this weekend will be Cayla Davidson, Jillian Hulsey, Katie Hurley, Samantha Johnson, Jamie Krasnigor, Haley Kvarnberg, Elise London and Shauna Rodgers.
