Greenwell Earns Ray Guy Award ‘Ray’s 8’ for Week 5 Performance

BIRMINGHAM – Kyle Greenwell is one of eight punters nationally to earn 'Ray's 8,' which is presented weekly to the top eight punters by the Ray Guy Award.
Greenwell had a tremendous evening punting the ball against Liberty as his six punts traveled 291 yards, good for an average of 48.5 yards per punt. Greenwell had two punts travel over 50 yards, including a 59-yarder, while downing two inside the 20.
Greenwell is having a strong start to his junior campaign with an overall average of 43.92 yards per punt. He has seven punts that have gone over 50 yards and has downed seven inside the 20.
In addition to this recognition, Greenwell earned the Conference USA Special Teams Player of the Week on Sept. 20 for his performance at North Texas, which was highlighted by a career-long 73-yard punt.
