UAB Rifle Earns Dominant Road Victory at Wofford

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The UAB rifle team earned a dominant 4,547-3,243 victory at Wofford on Saturday at the Terriers' Taylor Center Rifle Range.
Blazers Sophia Flores and Blake Wingard each tallied personal bests in the air rifle, recording scores of 586 and 577, respectively. Four UAB shooters earned their way into the top five on Saturday, including Amy Kohan, who topped all shooters with an aggregate score of 1,152.
Kohan paced all shooters with a score of 570 in the smallbore. Flores placed second in smallbore with a tally of 561, while Maggie Vonderau rounded out the top three with a score of 556.
In the air rifle, Flores topped all shooters with a score of 586. Kohan (582), Wingard (577) and Vonderau (571) rounded out the top four for the Green and Gold.
Kohan's overall tally of 1,152 surpassed a season high by 13 points, while Flores' aggregate score of 1,147 also marked a season high.
UAB will return to the range on Nov. 13 when the Blazers travel to Lexington, Virginia, for a match at VMI.
