A Letter to Blazer Nation From Director of Athletics Mark Ingram
9/30/2020 9:03:00 AM | General, Blazer Boosters
Blazer Nation,
Fall sports are underway and our teams are performing well. UAB Football is 2-1 with a Homecoming matchup on Saturday versus UTSA at 11:30 a.m. where we will honor patients from Children's Harbor. Purchase your tickets and join us at Legion Field. Women's Cross Country won their first team title since 2014, and Men's Golf is looking to win their third straight tournament to open the season as they finish hosting the Graeme McDowell Invite later today. Our men's soccer team has begun play, and Women's Soccer and Volleyball will begin competition soon in early October. The most up-to-date schedules and ticketing information can be found at uabsports.com.
Fans…WE NEED YOUR HELP! We are thrilled to be playing sports but your assistance is necessary so that our fans can continue watching our teams play.
Be sure to catch Coach Andy Kennedy's first season as the men's basketball team continues its preparations to make a run at the Conference USA Championship this year! We are currently finalizing a socially distanced seating model that allows for approximately 25% capacity at Bartow Arena. Season ticket holders, UAB Students, and student-athlete guests will have top priority as we adjust our seating manifest leading into the season. The only way to guarantee your seat in 2020-21 is by purchasing season tickets which are still on sale starting as low as $100. More information on how seats will be re-allocated along with a timeline of key dates will be shared next week.
As construction on Protective Stadium ramps up in Uptown, we recently unveiled pricing and allocation details. Fans are encouraged to complete their Protective Stadium Letter of Intent, which secures an appointment time during the seat selection process. Blazer Boosters members and 2020 season ticket holders will have top priority for seats leading into the 2021 season.
We continue to make great progress on so many fronts and appreciate your continued support through Blazer Boosters and by purchasing tickets to cheer on our teams. We look forward to seeing you at our next home game on Saturday.
Go Blazers!

- NO Tailgating Policy – We ask that no matter the size of your group, please do not set up or congregate prior to or after UAB Football games. This will be enforced in all lots at Legion Field for the duration of this season.
- Sit in Your Seat – Please do not move around into seats that you see as empty. It is important for you to sit in the seat that has been assigned to you so that we keep proper spacing to adhere to social distancing measures in place.
- Wear Your Mask – They aren't comfortable or stylish but they make a huge difference by helping us to stop the spread of the virus. Masks are required per state and county ordinance, and wearing them is extremely important to protecting ourselves and those around us.
