UAB Women’s Golf to Host Hoover Invitational Monday and Tuesday

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB women's golf team is set to host the Hoover Invitational this Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 21-22, at Hoover Country Club.
The Blazers welcome a field that includes Arkansas Little Rock, Middle Tennessee, South Alabama, Southern Illinois, Troy, UAB, ULM, UT Chattanooga, University of Indianapolis and WKU.
Monday features 36 holes and Tuesday's final round will be 18. The par 72 course will play 6,175 yards. The Blazers will tee off at 8 a.m. on Monday and are paired with Chattanooga and WKU.
UAB's lineup consists of senior Tia Teiniketo, freshman Shelly Chen, freshman Emilia Smith, sophomore Caroline Waldrop and junior Stephenie Fowler. Karlee Allen, Lexie Dawson and Marilyn Steed will compete as individuals.
This will be UAB's second tournament of the season after opening the year two weeks ago in Mobile. The Blazers finished fourth overall at the tournament hosted by South Alabama. Teiniketo, Chen and Smith all tied for eighth overall at +1.
