UAB Baseball Sees Seven Future Blazers Earn 2020 Rawlings-Perfect Game Preseason All-Region Honors

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Seven future members of the UAB baseball program were named to 2020 Rawlings-Perfect Game Preseason Southeast Region teams, Perfect Game announced on Wednesday.
Outfielder Darryl Buggs earned the highest honor of Southeast Region All High School Senior Second Team. Right-handed pitchers Tyler Bell and Nick Wright, lefty Carson Knight, shortstops David Harris and Jake Rivers along with catcher Jake Killingsworth all received Southeast Region Honorable Mentions.
"With more than 450,000 high school baseball players in the nation, the Rawlings-Perfect Game Preseason All-American players represent the very best in their class," said Mike Thompson, chief marketing officer for St. Louis-based Rawlings. "Rawlings and Perfect Game are synonymous with the game of baseball, and the preseason awards allow us to recognize and reward these elite athletes for their hard work and contribution to the game."
Including the Southeast Region, the Rawlings-Perfect Game Preseason All-Region selections are comprised of players from nine total regions around the country.
The Rawlings-Perfect Game Preseason All-American honorees represent the top 150 players from the All-Region pool. Each recipient is named to one of three 50-man roster national teams.
Each of the aforementioned student-athletes signed a National Letter of Intent during the fall of 2019 to further their athletic and academic careers at UAB. To learn more about each player, visit UAB baseball's story archives or check out the early signing period summary here.
