UAB Heads to Florida for Final MEAC Regular Season Event

BIRMINGHAM- After a tough competition filled with ranked opponents last week, the No. 21 UAB bowling team returns to the lanes this weekend when it travels to Pensacola, Fla. for its second Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) competition of the season hosted by Florida A&M.
The tournament will follow the format of five Baker games on Friday, five Traditional games on Saturday and three best-of-seven bracket-round matches on Sunday.
UAB is one of four ranked teams in the field this weekend, including No. 6 Maryland Eastern Shore, No. 8 North Carolina A&T and No. 18 Delaware State.
In their first MEAC competition this year, the Blazers posted a solid 5-5 record and finished in eighth place. Taylor Russell led the way with a total pinfall of 1,138 to finish in 11th place. Jamie Krasnigor (1,089) and Samantha Johnson (1,056) finished in 15th and 23rd, respectively, to finish the Blazers in the top 25 individually.
Competing for UAB this weekend in MEAC #2 will be Taylor Russell, Rachel Strogin, Annie Hurley, Elise London, Samantha Johnson, Cayla Davidson, Jamie Krasnigor, Katie Hurley and Morgan Mullinax.
