John Snoddy Named Conference USA Golfer of the Week

BIRMINGHAM – Coming off the best tournament of his collegiate career, redshirt sophomore John Snoddy was named Conference USA Men's Golfer of the Week on Wednesday.
Snoddy notched his first career top five finish by shooting a collegiate-best 208 (-8) at the Mobile Sports Authority Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday at RTJ Magnolia Grove. He finished in a tie for fourth place overall.
The Birmingham native shot a 68 (-4) in two of his three rounds and carded 14 birdies and one eagle during the 54-hole tournament.
"That is the best golf I have seen John play and he is really starting to hit his stride," head coach Mike Wilson said. "I am excited to see his progression throughout the spring season as we move towards postseason play."
Snoddy now owns a 72.7 stroke average and he now has seven rounds at or under par for the 2019-2020 season.
As a team, Snoddy helped UAB shoot -22 for the tournament and placed in a tie for fourth overall. The only teams ahead of the Blazers were Florida State, Illinois and No. 15 Louisville.
This is Snoddy's first career C-USA Golfer of the Week honor. He was a member of the C-USA All-Freshman Team a year ago as well.
The Blazers are off for a month before heading to The Schenkel, March 13-15, in Statesboro, Ga.
