UAB Bowling Finishes Seventh at Louisiana Tech Invitational

BIRMINGHAM- After facing off against multiple ranked teams this weekend, No. 21 UAB finished seventh at the Louisiana Tech Invitational.
The Blazers started the competition on Friday morning with three baker matches. UAB would have a slow start with losing all three to No. 9 Louisiana Tech (752-873), Prairie View A&M (870-910) and No. 2 Vanderbilt (782-952). The Blazers would finish the day with a bye for total pinfall only with 858 to conclude the day with a 0-3 record.
UAB would come out with confidence on day two with a win over No. 7 Stephen F. Austin (862-859) to start their traditional match play. The Blazers would lose the next three matches to No. 20 Tulane twice (748-989) (818-922) and No. 5 Sam Houston St (921-999) to end day two of competition.
On Sunday, UAB started the day with another bye with a total pinfall of 819 in which led to a matchup against Tulane. The Blazers competed until the end but came up short 4-2 in a best of seven baker matches to finish in seventh place for the weekend.
Samantha Johnson led the way with a total pinfall of 773 to finish in 12th place. Elise London (670), Jamie Krasnigor (663) and Katie Hurley (657) placed 21st, 22nd and 23rd, respectively, to finish the Blazers in the top 25 individually.
