2021 Signing Class: Carson Myers

BIRMINGHAM — The UAB baseball program and head coach Perry Roth announced the official signing of left-handed pitcher Carson Myers to the Blazers' 2021 class.
"Carson is a projectable LHP who is ultra-competitive and has a real knowledge of how to pitch," said Roth. "He pitches with a great tempo and big confidence. We expect him to gain velocity as he matures in strength. He comes from really good high school and summer programs, who have helped his development as well."
Myers spent his high school career at Bowling Green (Ky.) High School, where he played for head coach Nathan Isenburg. With the Purples, Myers was a three-year varsity letterman and earned First-Team All-State Academic for three years. He has also played four years of varsity golf.
During the summer, he played for Kentucky Baseball Club and head coach Kevin Clary. This past summer, Myers pitched 23.2 innings, struck out 33 of the 88 batters he faced, and allowed just one earned run. He has garnered numerus recognitions and is the No. 4 left-handed pitcher and 31st overall prospect in Kentucky's 2021 class by Kentucky Prep Baseball Report.
Myers also had an incredible Little League career, making it to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pa. in back-to-back years (2015, 2016).
"We are so thankful to add Carson to our program," added Roth. "Carson is the son of Matt Myers, who is the pitching Coach at UNC Wilmington. I have known Matt since his days as a coach at Auburn and he is a good friend.
"It was so comfortable to add Carson because we already knew about the character of him and his family. He is an excellent student and will be the type of teammate and worker we love in the UAB Family."
