BIRMINGHAM - UAB men's soccer team fell in its home opener to Georgia State 4-1 on Tuesday night at BBVA Field.

UAB (1-5) and Georgia State (6-1) each had 14 shots with three on goal for the Blazers and eight for the Panthers.

"Unfortunately, it's a bit of a broken record for us," said head coach Jeff Kinney. "We are giving up goals and we haven't shown any ability to defend for 90 minutes. We had a lot of young players on the field for us that played quite well though and deserve more time as we move forward."
