BIRMINGHAM - With the start of UAB football's 2019 title defense exactly one month away, excitement is at an all-time high and fans can start to plan for an unforgettable night at Legion Field on Aug. 29 when the Blazers host Alabama State.
For a second-consecutive year, there will be a Food Truck Rally outside of Blazer Village prior to kickoff beginning at 3 p.m. The food truck lineup this year consists of: Eugene's Hot Chicken, Cheezin, Devil Dogs, I Love Bacon, Wasabi Juan's, K&J Elegant Pastries and NOLA Ice.
Blazer Village is once again the place to be prior to kickoff with activities for all ages. Kids can have their face painted, bounce on inflatables and play interactive games. New this year to Blazer Village is the Birmingham Budweiser Beer Garden which offers a variety of different domestic and craft beer options for adults 21 years or older.
Fans are then encouraged to make their way into the stadium 30 minutes prior to kickoff for a special pre-game celebration and banner reveal of the 2018 Conference USA Championship and Cheribundi Boca Raton Bowl victory.
"We strive to continually provide our fans a first-class experience when they attend UAB football games, and this year's home-opener will be one of the most exciting games in program history," UAB Director of Athletics Mark Ingram said. "Along with all the pregame festivities outside of Legion Field, this will be the first of many championship banner reveals for UAB Football."
Gameday Done Right will offer a premium tailgate experience for all UAB home football games in 2019. Located in Lot L on the northeast side of Legion Field, Gameday Done Right will setup and breakdown all tailgating equipment, as well as arrange for catering, coolers with ice and satellite TV. Tailgate packages for all sizes are available, with many other ala carte add-ons to ensure the perfect tailgate is setup. Season tailgate passes are already on sale, while single game options go on sale this Thursday, Aug. 1.
New this year, fans can catch the action with a private suite located on the Legion Field turf behind the south end zone. These unique, cabana style suites are covered and include admission for up to 25 guests per game. Suites are purchased for $10,000 on a season long basis with access points on the Southwest corner of Legion Field. Food and beverage minimums are not included. With limited inventory available, please contact Blazer Boosters at (205) 996-9969 for more information or to purchase a private suite today.
