Women’s Golf in 12th After 36 Holes at Memphis Intercollegiate

MEMPHIS – The UAB women's golf team currently sits in 12th place following 36 holes on Monday at Ridgeway Country Club in a tournament hosted by the University of Memphis.
The Blazers opened the day by shooting 311, then returned in the afternoon to shoot a 299, which was the sixth-best team score in the second round. UAB (+42) is one of seven teams who enters the final round within 10 strokes of each other.
Individually, senior Maria Donado is pacing the Blazers as she's tied for 16th at +5. Donado shot a four over 75 on the first 18 holes before carding a one over 72 in the second round. Donado is 10 shots behind the leader Megan McLean of Penn State (-5), but is within four shots of sixth place.
Junior Kenna Hughes is three shots behind Donado at +8 (76-74) and is tied for 28th place. Junior Tia Teinikeo (+12, T46) and sophomore Stephenie Fowler (+17, T65) rounded out the UAB lineup, while freshman Lexie Dawson had to withdraw from the tournament.
