Dear Blazer Nation,
I'd like to open this letter to by extending our heartfelt sympathies to those affected by the tornado in Lee County. Many citizens in our surrounding communities were devastated by this storm, and I would encourage you to learn more about how you can help.
Congratulations to the UAB Rifle team who won its FIRST EVER CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP!! These young men and women have worked incredibly hard since their return in 2015 to achieve this tremendous accomplishment. We couldn't be more proud of them and their Head Coach Lori Goodwin!
The men's and women's basketball regular season is drawing to an end. The women's basketball team is currently tied for second place and have their last regular season game on Thursday at Louisiana Tech. Men's basketball concludes its home schedule on Saturday at Bartow Arena when they take on Old Dominion at 2 p.m. Buy your tickets here. The Blazers will celebrate the careers of four seniors and are still in contention for a first round bye in the upcoming C-USA Tournament in Frisco, Texas.
Three big construction projects are approaching completion. The beach volleyball facility, our world-class track and our new soccer stadium are each days away from being finished. These facility improvements can be credited to our Blazer Boosters members who have supported our vision to be excellent in everything we do. Each of these programs will now be in a position to compete for championships and perform at the highest level every year. Become a Blazer Boosters member by investing in student-athletes and help IGNITE the future success of the UAB Department of Athletics.
Spring practice is underway for UAB football following the best season in program history. We will be holding the Pepsi Spring Game on Saturday, April 6th at 1 p.m. Get a look at your 2019 Blazers as our coaches and players are excited to showcase their hard work for you at Legion Field. Follow that up with our annual Dragon Egg Hunt on Sunday, April 7th at the Football Operations Center. This event is free and open to the public, and we hope you can make it. Make sure you purchase your 2019 football season tickets by clicking here. The April 1st priority seat deadline is approaching, and with the new downtown stadium on the horizon, it is important to build your priority NOW. The priority allocation in the downtown stadium will reward season ticket holders and Blazer Boosters members who have given generously and consistently.
Thanks to each of you for your support. We couldn't have gotten here without you!
Go Blazers!
