Blazers Place 15th in First Tournament of Spring Season

FERNANDINA BEACH, Fla. - Led by Maria Donado and Tia Teiniketo who both tied for 39th place, the UAB women's golf team finished 15th at the Amelia Island Collegiate hosted by Jacksonville University.
Donado and Teiniketo were both +18 for the week, which featured 36 holes on Monday and the final 18 on Tuesday. Donado (78-76-80) shot her low round on Monday with a +4 in round two, while Teiniketo's low round of +5 came on the final 18 holes (78-79-77).
Kenna Hughes was UAB's third finisher in a tie for 68th, while Lexie Dawson (T76) and Stephenie Fowler (80) rounded out the Blazers' efforts.
North Florida won the team title, followed by Florida Gulf Coast, Marshall, Georgia State and Sam Houston State rounding out the top five. Individually, Florida Gulf Coast's Laura Edmonds won the title at +3.
The Blazers are back in action two weeks from now when they travel to UNF Collegiate hosted by the University of North Florida on Monday and Tuesday, March 4-5.
