UAB ATHLETICS STAFF GIVING REACHES 100% PARTICIPATION TOWARDS IGNITE

BIRMINGHAM - UAB Athletics has achieved their goal of 100 percent staff participation with Blazer Boosters once again in 2019 as a part of the IGNITE campaign. IGNITE is an initiative to increase the Blazer Boosters membership base, fortify a foundation for continued financial growth, and position UAB Athletics to compete at the highest level of college athletics.
"I greatly appreciate the coaches and administration for committing to this fundraising initiative and showing how invested we are as a department to our student-athletes," said Director of Athletics Mark Ingram. "In order to be the best at everything we do, we must also win off the field by properly supporting our coaches and student-athletes through Blazer Boosters."
This achievement comes following multiple record-breaking fundraising years for UAB Athletics, and Blazer Boosters is pushing to finish 2019 with the largest membership base in its department's history.
"The unanimous participation and commitment from within gives our staff an incredible platform as we share the UAB Athletics story with alumni and friends of UAB," said Senior Associate Athletic Director for External Affairs Brad Hardekopf. "This has been another banner year for UAB Athletics, and we look forward to new members stepping up to invest in our success as we close out the 2019 giving year."
Blazer Boosters are alumni and friends of UAB who recognize the value of the student-athlete experience. Gifts to Blazer Boosters generate funding for student-athlete scholarships, capital projects and facility improvements, and the enhancement of sport specific operating budgets.
