Fan Information for the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl

BIRMINGHAM – With five days remaining before the UAB football team takes on No. 20 Appalachian State in the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl, here is important information Blazer Nation needs to know before heading down to the Big Easy.
TICKETS
Fans are encouraged to purchase through the UAB Athletics ticket office. This is the only way to guarantee the best seats in the UAB Blazers fan block. There are both upper arena ($40) and lower arena seats ($60) still available.
Tickets purchased can be picked up at the UAB Athletics ticket office, located in the Bartow Arena East Tower through the close of business on Wednesday. All tickets not picked up or orders placed after Wednesday will be available at the stadium Will Call located inside gate H.
Tickets for UAB Students are available at the UAB Athletics Ticket Office for $10 and will also be available for purchase on game day at Gate H of the Superdome. Students must show a valid One Card and only credit cards will be accepted (no cash).
TRAVEL OPTIONS
Train travel to New Orleans is available through Amtrak's Crescent Express. The daily trips depart Birmingham at approximately 11:50 a.m. and arrive in New Orleans at approximately 7:30 p.m. The Crescent returns from New Orleans at 7:00 a.m. with an approximate arrival in Birmingham at 2:30 pm.

TEAM SEND OFF
Fans are invited to gather outside the UAB Football Operations Center to wish the team well as they board the busses for travel to New Orleans at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 18. Join the band and spirit teams in a brief celebratory event. The team is expected to depart at 8:15 a.m.
FAN EVENTS IN NEW ORLEANS
Fans traveling to New Orleans are invited to participate in a number of activities happening around the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl. Help paint the town green and gold by wearing UAB colors. Visit NewOrleansBowl.org to view all of the events and local attractions.
In addition to UAB football, UAB women's basketball will also be competing in the Big Easy. The Blazers will play in the Tulane Classic, hosted at Fogleman Arena on the campus of Tulane University. UAB will take on Colorado Friday at 1 p.m., followed by Texas Southern Saturday at 1 p.m. Tickets for the Tulane Classic are $5 and can be purchased here in advance or at the venue on game days.
FOOTBALL GAME DAY
Prior to the 8 p.m. kickoff inside the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, Blazer fans can enjoy a couple of fan gathering opportunities on game day.
This is UAB's third-consecutive bowl game since returning to action in 2017. The Blazers look to capture their second straight bowl victory after winning the Cheribundi Boca Raton Bowl last season.
The R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl marks the first time UAB and Appalachian State will meet on the gridiron. The Blazers are 14-11 all-time against teams from the Sun Belt.

- Pep Rally at Spanish Plaza - 4 p.m.: Join the Marching Blazers and Spirit Teams for approximately thirty minutes along the River Front. This event is free and open to the public.
- National Alumni Society Pregame Party at the Claiborne Club – 5 p.m.: Following the pep rally, travel one mile down Poydras Street to the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. Tickets are available for $15 per person to access the event from 5-7:30 p.m. Included in the pregame event is traditional New Orleans food, entertainment, music and one drink ticket. The NAS will have shakers, gameday buttons and other special giveaways for event guests.
- The pregame event must be accessed by entering Gate H on the northwest side of the stadium. A limited number of tickets are available so be sure to purchase here. The pregame event price DOES NOT include a game ticket. Each ticketed person MUST have a game ticket for entry.
