Women’s Golf Places 16th at Battle at the Beach in Cabo

SAN JOSE DEL CABO, Mexico - The UAB women's golf team placed 16th in its fifth and final fall tournament at the Battle at the Beach hosted by TCU in Cabo.
Senior Tia Teiniketo led the Blazers by tying for 36th place at +7. Teiniketo shot 76-75-72 and carded the team's low score in every round of the tournament.
She is having a fantastic senior campaign and concluded the fall slate with a stroke average of 72.1.
The remaining four Blazers didn't finish higher than 73rd.
Ole Miss won the tournament at -7 and was followed by LSU (E), TCU (+5), Texas A&M (+8) and Virginia Tech (+8).
The Rebels also had the individual top finisher in Julia Johnson who shot an 11-under 61 in the final round to concluded the tournament at -13.
UAB is now off until the spring when they open competition in mid-February at the Allstate Sugar Bowl hosted by Tulane.
