UAB Begins Crucial Three Match Roadtrip at WKU

BIRMINGHAM – UAB starts a challenging three match stretch tomorrow when they travel to Western Kentucky. The Blazers (4-5-5, 2-3-2) and Hilltoppers (8-6-1, 4-4-0 C-USA) kickoff at the WKU Soccer Complex at 6 p.m.
THE SERIES
The teams have met five times with each team winning a pair and one draw. WKU has won both matches in Bowling Green. Last season, Kamilah Mustafa scored five minutes into overtime to give UAB a 2-1 win in Birmingham.
UAB LATELY
There were three goals scored in the last seven minutes of regulation play in Sunday's 2-2 draw between UAB and Old Dominion at BBVA Field. After trailing 1-0 in the 10th minute, UAB scored in the 83rd and 86th minutes from Regan Kommor and Sha'Nya Stephens respectively to tie the contest. However, with 38 seconds to play in regulation, the Monarchs got the equalizer. Currently, UAB is tied for 10th in the C-USA standings.
WKU LATELY
Coming off a losses at Rice on Sunday and at North Texas last Friday. The Hilltoppers sit all along in fifth place in the C-USA standings. Ambere Barnett leads C-USA with 64 shots (4.3 per match). Ashley Leonard is tied for eighth in the league with seven goals. Keeper Anne-Marie Ulliac is seventh with a GAA of 1.03

UAB remains on the road to face Southern Miss on Oct. 27 and the regular season finale at Middle Tennessee on Nov. 1.
