Men’s Golf Opens the 2018-19 Season at the Badger Invitational

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – As it did to start last season, the UAB men's golf team will travel to Madison, Wisc., to open the season at the Badger Invitational hosted by the University of Wisconsin.
The three-day tournament runs from Sunday, Sept. 9 through Tuesday, Sept. 11 with 18 holes scheduled for each day. The Blazers will field a team which features William Walker III, Murray Naysmith, John Hayden, Nick Robillard and Ethan Hagood.
The top four UAB players in this week's lineup return from last year's team that finished second in Conference USA, while highly-touted freshman Ethan Hagood is participating in his first collegiate tournament.
"We are looking forward to the first event of the season," said head coach Mike Wilson. "I'm excited to see how our team will compete against schools from other parts of the country on one of the top university golf courses in the nation."
Along with the Blazers and the Badgers, the field consists of Iowa State, Illinois State, Kansas, Marquette, Nevada, North Dakota, Northern Illinois, Rutgers, South Dakota State and Xavier.
