UAB Football Announces Gameday Enhancements for 2018

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Coming off a historic year at Legion Field in 2017, the UAB Department of Athletics and the Bruno Event Team continues to enhance and upgrade the fan experience at UAB football games as the 2018 season draws closer.

Included in the enhancements for the upcoming season are a Food Truck Rally, Gameday Done Right Premium Tailgate Area, Buffalo Wild Wing Tailgate Wars and additional parking options. All of the upgrades will be in place leading into UAB's season opener against Savannah State on Thursday, Aug. 30.

FOOD TRUCK RALLY:

In conjunction with the Birmingham Food Truck Coalition, the Food Truck Rally will feature 10 local food trucks and a craft beer tent set up next to Blazer Village on the west side of Legion Field. For the home opener, the featured food trucks include City Bowls, Cheezin, Devil Dawgs, Eugene's Hot Chicken, Heavenly Donuts, I Love Bacon, Repicci's Italian Ice & Gelato, Rickard Mobile Catering, Rooski's and Tamale Queen.

Legion Field will feature food trucks throughout the season and fans can find out which trucks will be there featured at each game by visiting uabsports.com and following @UAB_FB on social media.

GAMEDAY DONE RIGHT:

Gameday Done Right will offer a premium tailgate experience for all UAB home football games in 2018. Located in Lot L on the northeast side of Legion Field, Gameday Done Right will setup and breakdown all tailgating equipment, as well as arrange for catering, coolers with ice and satellite TV. Tailgate packages for all sizes are available, with many other ala carte add-ons to ensure the perfect tailgate is setup.

BUFFALO WILD WINGS TAILGATE WARS:

UAB Athletics and Buffalo Wild Wings are looking for the most enthusiastic Blazer fans and want to recognize and reward UAB tailgaters for the fun they bring to every game. Tailgate Wars will take place at every home game and will be scored by traveling judges. Tailgates will be based on the following criteria: UAB Blazer visual presence (decorations, fan apparel, etc.), food, games and entertainment, enthusiasm, overall presentation and the number of people in attendance. To be eligible for prizes, tailgaters must register at https://blazergameday.com/tailgate-wars/.

ALCOHOL:

Alcohol will once again be sold at Legion Field to fans 21 years of age and older. The purchase of alcohol will conclude at the end of the third quarter and UAB Athletics reminds fans to please drink responsibly.

ENHANCED PARKING OPTIONS:

ON-CAMPUS PARKING

Fans also have the option to park on campus and ride the complimentary shuttle to Legion Field for FREE. The shuttle lot address is 854 5^th Ave S, Birmingham, AL 35233. Park on the UAB Campus in Express Lot 4 and there will be bus shelters inside the parking lot where the busses will pick up. Following the game, return to the bus circle for the shuttle back to Express Lot 4. Shuttles start four hours prior to kickoff and conclude one hour after the game. TICKETS:

Season tickets are on sale starting as low as $99 and are still the best option if you plan to attend a majority of the games or are looking for the best seat locations. New in 2018 is the Family Four Pack which features four season tickets in sections 35 or 36 on the east side of Legion Field for $300. In addition, fans can choose the games in which they are able to attend with a Pick-Three Mini Plan for $51. Single game tickets are also on sale.
