BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Returning for his 12th year as The Voice of the Blazers, veteran play-by-play announcer David Crane headlines UAB's radio efforts for Blazer football this season.
Crane will call the action for UAB football on WJQX 100.5 FM, and is joined by Steve Irvine in his fourth year who will provide color analysis and former UAB punter Trey Ragland who enters his second year handling sideline reporting.
Pregame coverage on the Blazer IMG Sports Network will begin one hour prior to kickoff. Scot Harrison will serve as the host of the first half hour of the show, which will originate from the Gardendale location of Buffalo Wild Wings starting in week two. The pregame show will move to the new downtown location of Buffalo Wild Wings after it opens in October.
Crane, Irvine and Ragland will take over live from the stadium as kickoff approaches and will be on the air until postgame coverage wraps up from the UAB locker room. Mike Mote will keep fans updated on all the day's scores as he returns for his second year as the network's studio host, and Jon Gentile is in his 21st season as network engineer.
Additionally, head coach Bill Clark and Crane will be at Dreamland BBQ's Southside location each Monday night at 6 p.m. for Blazer Sportsline, Clark's weekly radio show which also airs on WJQX 100.5 FM.
