Schultz Named Summer League Team MVP

STRASBURG, Va. – Rising junior outfielder Colton Schultz was named the Most Valuable Player for the Strasburg Express, his summer ball team in the Valley League.
Schultz hit .352 with 30 runs scored, seven doubles, three home runs and 30 RBI. He recorded 11 multi-hit games, including three straight in July where he went 11-for-14 with nine runs scored, a double, two home runs and three RBI.
As a sophomore for the Blazers, he appeared in 52 games and led the team in batting average in Conference USA play with a .315 mark on 35 hits with 20 runs scored.
Schultz was joined by UAB teammates Sylvester Toe and Jim Jeffries over the summer as members of the Express.
