BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - UAB running back Jarrion Street's legislative relief waiver submitted to the NCAA by the Blazer Compliance Office has been approved and Street is immediately eligible for the 2018 season.
The Hewitt-Trussville product transferred to UAB from Ole Miss in the spring was granted eligibility on Thursday evening by the NCAA. He has two years of eligibility remaining.
Street bolsters a backfield which consists of FWAA Freshman All-American Spencer Brown who enters his sophomore year, along with Michigan transfer Kingston Davis and reliable third-down back James Noble III, who averaged 5.3 yards per carry last year for the Blazers.
Street appeared in 14 games for the Rebels in two years at linebacker, but returns to running back for the Blazers where he was named the 2015 7A Offensive Player of the Year after running for 1,400 yards and 16 touchdowns for Hewitt-Trussville. He was the No. 2 rated running back in the state of Alabama coming out of high school.
Along with the addition of Street, UAB returns 10 starters on offense, including Brown, All-Conference quarterback A.J. Erdely and the entire offensive line. In 2017, the Blazers set multiple rushing records and have an opportunity to shatter those records in 2018.
UAB was 6-0 at home last season and led Conference USA in attendance. Season tickets are on sale for 2018 starting as low as $99. Click here to purchase or call the ticket office at 205-975-UAB1.
