BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The UAB track and field team is back again this weekend as it run in the Alabama Invitational in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
The Blazers have been on a roll and will look to continue that momentum into this weekend. UAB ran well in sloppy conditions last week at the Pepsi Florida Relays where the shuttle hurdle relay and the 4x200-meter relay posted the fastest times UAB has seen in those two events since 2014.
In the 4x800-meter relay the Blazers improved by six seconds over last year's time and the Distance Medley Relay team improved by 19 seconds from last season.
From the Coach's Desk
"We had some tough weather down in Florida and none of the field events got to compete but seeing what our relay teams did in the rainy conditions and setting some fast times like they did was great to see," head coach Kurt Thomas said. "We're hoping for some better weather this weekend and we want to see those times really start to take off as we move towards the conference meet."
