Letters From Mark Ingram: Facility Projects, Graduation and Spring Sports

Dear Blazer Nation,
Next week we break ground on the expansion to BBVA Compass Field, adding 4,000 seats, a video board, permanent restroom facilities, a permanent concessions stand and a ticket office. This will make BBVA Compass Field one of the finest on campus soccer-only stadiums in the country. Two weeks later, we will break ground on an Olympic quality track. UAB has sponsored a track and field team for over 33 years, and we will finally have a home for our team to train and compete.
Women's Bowling heads to the USBC ITC National Championships this week in Lincoln, Neb. We couldn't be more proud of what they accomplished this season and the way they represent our university.
This month, we will graduate 73 student-athletes!! This is a milestone that they have all worked so hard for and an honor they will value for the rest of their lives. We say to our student-athletes often that we want to win championships but there is no trophy more valuable than the one they will hold over their heads walking across the stage at graduation.
Football season tickets are available now! Make your purchase by clicking here. We want to set another record this year and need everyone to renew their tickets, and also encourage others to make that same investment. There are no limits for the success our teams can achieve, but it takes all of us to make that happen.
Baseball and Softball are both competing well in C-USA. Please come out to see us at Mary Bowers Field, Young Memorial or Regions Field sometime soon and cheer those teams onto victory.
Thanks again for all you do to support our student-athletes and our teams!
Go Blazers!
