Track Side with Head Coach Kurt Thomas
"My staff and I are pleased with what we saw this weekend," Thomas said. "The athletes came out and competed hard and we came away with lots of top 10 finishes, several top 5 finishes and lots of personal bests. Mo had a good triple jump and Ali and Brittany Floyd jumped well. Ali and Kyla Robertson had good 100m hurdle races and Shelbi opened up with a solid 100m time despite a strong headwind. Our relays raced well despite very windy races and the distance crew ran strong races too. Marielle is in a good position to run fast, Bethan and Rebecca had good 1500m races. This sets us up well for a big trip to Florida Relays next week. We have to keep getting better, training hard and competing hard."
Up Next
UAB heads to Gainesville, Fla. next weekend for the Florida Relays, an event that typically sees fast times in the sprit and relay races.
