Blazers Finish in Sixth at Bama Beach Bash

GULF SHORES, Ala. – The UAB women's golf team was unable to overcome a surging Alabama State on the final day of the 'Bama Beach Bash and finished in sixth place overall.
"We disappointed with the results, but I'm glad that Maria played well today," head coach Kim Wilcox said.
Maria Donado led UAB shooting a final round 73 (+1) and finished in 14th overall. The junior made the turn off the back nine at one-under par, but bogeys on holes 17 and 18 hindered her sub-par round.
Juliana Sebastian finished tied for 27th after a team-high four birdies in the final round gave her a closing 77 (+5).
Sydney Snodgrass rebounded from her second-round 81 to card a 79 on the final 18 holes and finished tied for 29th.
Kenna Hughes and Kayla Wilbourn rounded out the UAB lineup shooting rounds of 81 and 87 respectively.
South Alabama led the tournament wire-to-wire setting the 'Bama Beach Bash 54-hole team record with a 856 (-8) three-day total.
UAB returns to the course March 25-27 at the John Kirk Invitational in Stockbridge, Ga.
