Blazers Ink Two in 2018 Class

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The UAB men's soccer team and head coach Mike Getman inked two new members to its 2018 signing class.
DJ Benton of Birmingham, Ala. and Blake White of Stockbridge, Ga. are both slated to join the Blazers for the 2018 season.
DJ Benton | Defender | Birmingham, Ala.
Benton is currently a member of the Houston Dynamo Academy of the MLS where he serves as the captain and has played the most minutes of any player. Prior to the Dynamo Academy, he spent the 2015 season as the member of the Region III ODP Team and the 2016 season playing for the Atlanta United Academy.
Getman on Benton:
"DJ has been on our radar since he was 12 years old. He has great skill and athleticism and is a great kid. I am very excited for him to join our team and I expect him to make an impact from day one."
Blake White | Midfielder | Stockbridge, Ga.
White is currently a member of the Atlanta United Academy of MLS where he was a member of the 2016 National Championship squad. White also is a member of the Jamaican U-17 National Team.
Getman on White:
"We noticed Blake when he was 15 years old and felt he was the top player in Georgia. He has won at every level and constantly shows that he is an impact player. I expect him to help our team right away."
"We have signed two impact players who will help our team right away," Getman said. "I expect to add one or two more players in the near future."
