Dear Blazer Nation,
Today marks another historic day for UAB and Birmingham as we officially broke ground on the new Downtown Stadium set to open prior to the 2021 season. This achievement is truly another community-wide effort that will position both our program and our city for long-term success.
UAB Football is enjoying unprecedented accomplishments under the leadership of Head Coach Bill Clark, who was just named the recipient of the Eddie Robinson National Coach of the Year Award. The 2018 campaign has been another record setting season in Birmingham that saw the Blazers capture their first Conference USA title, the program's first 10-win season and a school record seven C-USA victories.
There is no better time to be a Blazer! As we continue to build a program each of us can collectively take pride in, we attribute each victory along this journey to the incredible support our community continues to provide our coaches and student-athletes!
With that said, fans interested in securing seats when the Blazers kickoff in the new downtown stadium are strongly encouraged to commit to season tickets for the 2019 season and become Blazer Boosters members through our recent membership campaign IGNITE.
The UAB Department of Athletics and the BJCC have finalized a lease that is anticipated to begin during the 2021 football season. Build your priority NOW as additional plans for the new stadium will be unveiled in the coming months. Season tickets and parking leading into the 2021 season will be allocated based on the Blazer Boosters Priority Point system. Priority points are accumulated for lifetime giving, current year giving, purchasing season tickets for consecutive years and being an active Blazer Boosters member for consecutive years. Supporting UAB Athletics today will provide the best opportunity for great seats in the new downtown stadium.
