UAB Women’s Golf Opens Play at Battle at the Beach

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB women's golf team begins its final tournament of the fall season when it opens play at the Battle at the Beach in San Jose del Cabo, Mexico, on Friday, Nov. 2 at Golf Course Club Camperstre San Jose.
The event, hosted by Baylor University, will feature teams from across the United States including six top-25 squads and three top-ten units. Auburn, Baylor, Clemson, Denver, Houston, Iowa, Mississippi State, Missouri, New Mexico, Oklahoma, TCU, Texas, Tulane, Tulsa, Vanderbilt and Virginia will join UAB in the tournament.
The par 71, 6,202-yard course features 18 holes on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The Green and Gold will field a team consisting of Tia Teiniketo, Kendall Johnson, Maria Donado, Lexie Dawson and Stephenie Fowler.
This will be the fifth and final tournament for the Blazers this fall. UAB will look to finish on a high note before returning to the course in mid-February at the Amelia Island Collegiate hosted by Jacksonville University in Fernandina Beach, Fla.
