Blazers Enter Final Weekend of Fall Ball

BIRMINGHAM – After hosting 30 professional scouts at their annual Scout Day last Friday, the UAB baseball team wraps up its fall slate this weekend with the annual Green vs. Gold Series.
Teams are divided equally and will play a best-of-three series, battling for bragging rights going into spring practice.
"We have had a great fall and I believe our team has improved in every area," head coach Brian Shoop said. "The practice, work ethic and enthusiasm have been outstanding. Our team is starting to believe in one another and a committed belief is what propels us in the spring. We are extremely deep on the mound and it is incredibly competitive to earn a starting role among the position players."
The series begins Friday at 2 p.m. with game two slated for Saturday at noon. Game three will be played regardless on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. All games will take place at Young Memorial Field and are free and open to the public.
"This will be a fun weekend for Blazer baseball fans to see the team in action and stoke their baseball fever for the 2019 season," Shoop said.
Fans can receive admission into every home baseball, softball, men's soccer, women's basketball and volleyball game for the entire 2018-19 season for just $65 by purchasing a Gold Card. Contact the UAB Ticket Office, (205) 975-UAB1, for more details.
