Tyler Tolbert Selected for GLSCL All-Star Game

Blazers Place Three on Summer League All-Star Rosters
LIMA, Ohio – The UAB Baseball team had its third player selected to a summer league all-star game roster when Tyler Tolbert was chosen for the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League (GLSCL) game. The game is set for July 18 at Prasco Park in Mason, Ohio, with first pitch slated for 7 p.m.
Tolbert is tied for seventh in the GLSCL batting .393 (35-for-89) over 23 games. He has recorded four doubles and driven in eight runs while swiping 15 bases. The middle infielder has tallied 11 multi-hit games including a 4-for-5 night on June 2 in which he scored three runs and drove in two more.
The sophomore appeared in 40 games for the Blazers in 2017, making 31 starts. He finished second on the team in stolen bases, swiping 11 on 12 attempts. In the field, he committed a mere two errors on 84 chances.
Tolbert joins pitcher Ryan Ruggles and third basemen Price Visintainer as members of the Blazers' squad to be chosen for their summer league all-star game. Ruggles was selected for the Valley League All-Star game played on July 9. Visintainer appeared in the California Collegiate League game on July 12.
