AUGUSTA, Ga. – The UAB men’s golf team tied for 10th place at the 3M Augusta Invitational and was led by R.J. Keur and William Walker who notched top 20 finishes.
Kuer shot a one under during the final round at Augusta to finish the tournament at -4 overall and tied for 16th.
The junior has been on fire of late and carded his second straight tournament under par. He now has four top 20 finishes in his last four outings, including three top 15 finishes and two in the top five.
William Walker was also under par for the tournament at -3, which is a collegiate career-low for the redshirt freshman, and he tied for 19th overall.
“I thought we did a lot of good things this week,” head coach Mike Wilson said. “We still need to improve our par five scoring and finishing off our rounds. We are looking forward to a good week of practice to get ready for BYU.”
Murray Naysmith (+3), Taylor Eyster (+7) and Tim Harry (+9) rounded out UAB’s efforts as the Blazers shot +1 overall for the tournament.
UCF won the team title at -28, while Illinois’ Dylan Meyer took home individual honors at -11.
The Blazers continue action next Monday and Tuesday, April 10-11 in Provo, Utah as UAB participates in the Ping Cougar Classic hosted by BYU.
