Dear Blazer Nation,
The Blazers are once again hosting the Men’s and Women’s Conference USA Basketball Tournaments at Bartow Arena and Legacy Arena right here in Birmingham. This year’s competition is more balanced than ever which will make for a lot of exciting action. Be sure to get your tickets to cheer on both teams by contacting our ticket office at (205) 975-UAB1 or visit www.uabsports.com/tickets.
Football Season Tickets for the 2017 season are on sale NOW!! Lock down your orders today so that you can be part of the Select-A-Seat event hosted by Blazer Boosters starting in April. This will allow you to hand-pick your seats first. We want to set a record for the most season tickets ever sold by the Blazers. Do your part to ensure the long-term success of our team and be there when we make history on September 2nd! Tell your friends, and call the ticket office at (205) 975-UAB1 and order yours now!
The Softball Stadium project at Mary Bowers Field is complete and is spectacular. If you haven’t seen a game yet, you’re missing out. The new 1,000 seat stadium and press box makes this a fantastic place to watch your Blazers play. Be sure to call the ticket office and reserve your chairback seats. The Baseball team has also began its season. Don’t forget that the Blazers' home is Regions Field. They have started the year with a 6-5 record and are looking forward to competing for a conference title.
In addition to the Mary Bowers Field project, we have just completed a renovation of the Hoke-Hire Academics Center and a refresh to the Bell weight room. We will be starting a nutrition station next week that will help our student-athletes stay hydrated and re-fueled after every workout. The Football Operations Center is still on pace to be completed in June. Track the progress on our webcam at www.uab.edu/footballfacility. The team has started Spring practice and will be playing their official spring game on Saturday, April 1 at 1:00 pm. This will be a great chance for you to get a look at the team down at Historic Legion Field. We look forward to seeing you at one of our upcoming games!
Go Blazers!
