Blazers to Compete in Samford Invitational

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The UAB women’s track and field team is set for its last competition of the indoor season before the Conference USA Championships. The Blazers stay in town as they head to the Birmingham CrossPlex for the Samford Invitational.
“Some of our athletes are really close to a big breakthrough,” said head coach Kurt Thomas. “We’re really telling everybody that this is the last chance to do something before the conference meet. We just need to clean things up a little bit and keep improving. We have this one last chance to do it and really prepare and focus for the championships.”

This will be the last opportunity for the Blazers to reach the marks necessary to qualify for the C-USA Championships. 23 athletes will be competing individually for the Green & Gold across 11 events along with two relay teams running in the 1,600 Meter 4x4 Relay.
The day begins at 9 a.m. and the women’s events go through until the relay to close out the day starting at 4:25 p.m.
