QUOTABLE
Head Coach Randy Norton
Opening Statement...
First of all, I credit UTSA today. I thought they played outstanding. I watched a lot of tape on them and they've had an outstanding season and today they shot lights out. I'm looking at the stats sheet and they were 71 percent in the third quarter and 64 percent in the fourth from the field. I thought our kids were really guarding them hard and UTSA made shots with a hand in their face. This is one of those days where it wasn't for lack of effort on our players. They have a veteran squad and played well today, they deserved that win.
On T'erra Lewis...
It's all about when kids get an opportunity and stepping up and producing. That's been a spot that's kind of gone back and forth between a few girls. Life and sports is about when you get an opportunity can you take advantage of it and I thought T'erra did an outstanding job coming off the bench for us today.
On keeping a high level of play going forward...
We have such a high character group. This team is going to continue to play hard and in this game our kids never quit and fought to the end. As a coach that makes me proud and good things are going to happen for this team Today's game, unlike most of the other games we've played in the conference, this team just flat out outplayed us on this particular day.
Deanna Kuzmanic | Sophomore | Guard
On the hardest part of guarding UTSA today...
Like coach said they had a lot of weapons, they had 3-point shooters as well as post inside and it was a matter of balancing it out and maintaining both of those.
On getting ready for Charlotte...
Also like coach said, come Monday everybody has to bring it with the best that we have and get better. We'll think about Charlotte in the upcoming days.
On getting today behind you...
I just have to get back in the gym. You'll have good days and bad days and that's part of basketball, I just have to keep working.
As the captain, on what you say to the team about the tough slate ahead...
We all know as a team that we are capable of winning games and everybody on our team can play and contribute. We're just trying to stay together and know that we can beat anyone we play.
