Blazers Distribute Post-Season Awards

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The UAB men's soccer held its annual post-season banquet on Tuesday night at UAB's Bartow Arena.
Head coach Mike Getman announced Chase Rushing as the team's Most Improved Player, Massimo Ferrin as the team's Most Valuable Player and Evan Scarbrough as the recipient of the Coaches Award.
Ferrin, a Conference USA Second Team Honoree, was the Blazers' spark throughout the season. The sophomore led the team in goals (5), points (11), shots (39), shots on goal (21) and was a perfect 1-1 on penalty kicks.
Rushing appeared in 15 games for the Blazers making six starts. The sophomore picked up his first career assist in a 1-1 tie against Lipscomb. Additionally he fired off six shots, three on target and logged 656-minutes.
Scarbrough battled injury to appear in one game this past season. The senior, set to graduate this upcoming spring with a degree in Spanish, appeared in 39 games in his career and was tabbed as the team's 2014 Most Improved Player.
