13 Blazers Awarded 2017-18 Endowed Scholarships

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The UAB Department of Athletics is pleased to announce the honorary recipients of its 2017-18 endowed scholarships. The year's class features student athletes spanning seven different sports.
"UAB Athletics endowed scholarships allow our student-athletes an opportunity to fulfill their dream while striving for excellence in the classroom and in their sport," UAB Director of Athletics Mark Ingram said. "The generosity of these donors and their families represent a special commitment to UAB and to our student-athletes. Each endowed scholarship signifies individuals that want to make a difference by making a gift that will last indefinitely. We are very appreciative and honored to present these honorary awards to these outstanding student-athletes."

Harry "The Hat" Walker Endowed Memorial Scholarship – Carter Pharis (Baseball)
Jerry D. Young Endowed Memorial Athletic Scholarship – Eric Komati (Men's Tennis)
Lillyan H. Fahy Athletic Scholarship Fund – JoJo Fallen (Softball)
B. Gene Bartow Scholarship Endowment – Erik Henze (Men's Soccer)
Dorsey-Gallichio Endowed Athletic Scholarship – Price Visintainer (Baseball)
Mervyn J. Goldstein Endowed Scholarship Fund – Thomas Smallwood (Men's Basketball)
Ralph Holmes Family Memorial Endowed Award Fund – Riley McCown (Baseball)
