Mora Tabbed to Conference USA All-Academic Team

IRVING, Texas – Sophomore midfielder Eder Mora of the UAB men's soccer team has been named to the Conference USA All-Academic team, as announced by the league office.
"As one of our Captains, Eder has been a leader on and off the field," head coach Mike Getman said. "This award shows that the rest of the league understands the kind of player and person he is."
Mora is enrolled in UAB's distinguished Collat School of Business where he carries a 3.91 GPA while majoring in finance. He is a two-time member of the C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll as well as also being a two-time recipient of the
league's Academic Medal.
On the pitch he is a two-year starter for the Green and Gold and played the most minutes by a returner this past season. He played a strong role for the UAB defense that pitched four shutouts this season and helped the Blazers to a No. 4 ranking in the league in goals allowed and fifth in goals against average and shutouts. As a freshman he was named to the C-USA All-Freshman Team.
"I am honored that my commitment both on the field and in the classroom is being recognized with the award," Mora said.
Mora becomes the 14th Blazer to be named to the All-Academic team. UAB has had a student-athlete tabbed with C-USA Academic Honors every year for the past seven seasons.
