Blazers Close Out Fall Season at CCB Collegiate Invite

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The UAB men's tennis team will close out its fall slate this weekend as the Blazers compete at the 2017 CCB Collegiate Invitational at the The Country Club of Birmingham this weekend.
Hosted by the University of Alabama, the tournament also includes conference foe Southern Mississippi as well as East Tennessee State, Lipscomb, Miami, Portland, Samford, South Alabama, Tennessee, Troy, Tulane.
The Blazers were in action last weekend as the team made the short trip down I-65 for the PRC Collegiate Invite in Pelham. The Green and Gold turned in a solid overall performance in its second to last tournament of the fall.
UAB welcomes back the services of Tim Dollman, Kenton Parton and Stefan Gonzalez who each had last weekend off after impressive showings at the ITA Southern Regional four weekends ago.
All three found themselves in the main draw of the tournament, while Dollman and Gonzalez each advanced to the singles Round of 16.
The Blazers open their regular season on Jan. 14 as the team travels to Starkville, Mississippi to to take on the Mississippi State Bulldogs. First serve is set for 1 p.m.
