UAB Holds Annual Media Day in Bartow Arena

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – With the start of the 2017-18 season less than a week away, the UAB women's basketball team participated in the Blazers' annual media day on Thursday in the Green and Gold Room in Bartow Arena.
Head coach Randy Norton, as well as junior Deanna Kuzmanic and sophomores Miyah Barnes and Rachael Childress all fielded questions from local media as the team prepared for the upcoming campaign.
UAB returns three starters in Kuzmanic, Barnes and Childress while welcoming back letterwinners Whytney Singleton, Angela Vendrell, Katelynn Thomas, T'erra Lewis, Kara Rawls, Maya Garland and Imani Johnson.
The team has also added newcomers Talia Roldan, Lea Kerstein and Alabama transfer Trista Magee.
The Blazers kick off the 2017-18 season Nov. 1 when the team hosts the Montevallo Falcons for an exhibition game at 6 p.m. The first regular season game will be Nov. 11 against Mississippi Valley State at 2 p.m. in Bartow Arena.
For tickets, UAB fans have the opportunity to purchase a Gold Card which allows access to six different sports, including women's basketball, baseball and softball, throughout the upcoming season.
A single admission Gold Card is $65, while a dual admission card can be purchased for $120, admission for three is $165, and a 4-pack of Gold Cards is $200. Fans who purchase a Gold Card will be given a membership card they show to gain admission into each specific event. Fans can purchase a Gold Card at the UAB Athletics Ticket Office located at Bartow Arena, or by calling 205-975-UAB1.
