Coach Getman Talks 100th Win
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The UAB men’s soccer team became the first program in C-USA history to reach 100 conference wins on Saturday night when the Blazers defeated Marshall 3-0. The victory improved UAB's all-time C-USA record to 100-62-14.
"We take pride in being the first conference team to win 100 games,” said UAB head coach Mike Getman. “More importantly over the years to have that many good players as a part of our program.”
Senior Rami Dajani scored the first goal at the 22nd minute, the 14th in his career. Senior James Ngoe and freshman Chase Rushing tacked on goals in the 78th and 85th minutes, respectively.
“Conference USA, year after year, is one of the top five conferences in the country,” said Getman. “Our teams are having success nationally as well as in the league. To be apart of a league as strong as this is an exciting league to play in.”
The Blazers are currently 3-2-2 this season and 1-0-0 in Conference USA play. They host Old Dominion Saturday night at 7 p.m. at BBVA Compass Field in another conference tilt.
