Dajani and Do Named UAB Athletes of the Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – A pair of soccer players in Rami Dajani and Jessica Do have earned UAB Athletes of the Week for their goal scoring performances on the pitch.
After missing three games, Dajani returned against Marshall and scored the first goal of the game which proved to be the game-winner in a 3-0 victory for the men’s team.
With the win, UAB (3-2-2, 1-0-0 C-USA) earned its 100th Conference USA victory, making the Blazers the first team in C-USA to reach 100 conference wins.
Do tallied both goals for the women’s team in a 4-2 loss at Middle Tennessee. She scored the first goal of the game in the seventh minute, then netted the equalizer early in the second half to make the score 2-2.
Do now leads the Blazers goals (4) and points (9).
Both the men’s and women’s teams are in action this weekend at home. The men’s team welcomes Old Dominion to BBVA Compass Field on Saturday night at 7 p.m., while the women’s team hosts UTEP on Sunday at 1 p.m.
