Men's Golf Update: Schenkel Invitational

STATESBORO, Ga. - The UAB men's golf team currently sits tied for ninth at the Schenkel Invitational in Statesboro, Georgia. The Blazers shot 283 in the first round of the tournament, tied with Kentucky and North Carolina State at -5.
Senior Will Cannon shot a 68 in the round to come in at -4, while Martin Rohwer and Lee Hodges each posted a 71 to finish at -1 after one day.
"We played much better than our scores, I feel," head coach Alan Murray said. "We just didn't make enough putts and made some sloppy mistakes from good positions. If we play like we did today and can make a couple more putts, I think we can put up a superb team score."
