Men's Golf Update: Schenkel Invitational

STATESBORO, Ga. – The UAB men's golf team is currently in seventh place at the Schenkel Invitational in Statesboro, Georgia, at the Forest Heights Country Club, improving two spots from its Round 1 finish.
The Blazers shot 280 in today's second round. UAB is -13 after shooting 283 in the first round. Auburn moved from 12th to first in the second round after recording a tournament-best 269.
Will Cannon matched his round-one 68 to move up to T5 from T8. Martin Rohwer continued his steady play with a 70 to T26, and Lee Hodges jumped from T36 to T30 with a second-round 71.
"The guys were excellent today," head coach Alan Murray said. "We really needed to shoot a good number today, and they were all par or better. I am really proud of the guys' efforts, and it's good to see all the hard work starting to pay off."
The teams begin teeing off at 8:30 a.m. Sunday morning to begin its third round. Live scoring is available at GolfStat.com.
