Dear Blazer Nation,
As you well know, UAB and our Athletics Department wouldn’t have been able to achieve the success we’ve had over the last 18 months without the passionate support of our students, faculty and staff, alums and community leaders.
I’d like to make sure everyone knows about another important step forward in continuing our unprecedented momentum, taking place on November 8. Amendment 14 on Alabama’s ballot is good for UAB, Birmingham, Jefferson County and the entire state of Alabama.
Amendment 14 protects laws that provide funding for schools, hospitals, first-responders and other key community construction projects, which you can learn more about at www.14protectsAL.com. One very important project that we're all interested in is the proposed football stadium at the BJCC.
Amendment 14 safeguards the proposed stadium that will be the future home to UAB Football and many other events. This is a venue that will accelerate UAB Football’s success and, like Regions Field, is important to downtown Birmingham’s continued revitalization and momentum.
The stadium is just one important project that Amendment 14 protects. Please visit www.14protectsAL.com to read about Amendment 14 and its state-wide importance. We need your help in sharing information about this important amendment, so please do your part again and help spread the word.
Go Blazers!
Mark T. Ingram
